Wikipedia - SeaHorses Mikawa

Seahorses Mikawa is a Japanese professional basketball team located in Kariya and sponsored by Aisin. The team was founded in 1947. The team played in the National Basketball League. The current head coach is Ryan Richman. In July 2015 it was announced that the team will compete in the first division of the new Japan Professional Basketball League, which commenced in October 2016.

History

Throughout the past decade, the team has been led by head coach Kimikazu Suzuki and naturalized big man J. R. Sakuragi, who led the SeaHorses to decades of success, including numerous titles in Japan's prime basketball league.

Japonský basketbalový tým Mikawa Seahorses se nachází v městě Kariya v prefektuře Aiči. Tým byl založen v roce 2007 a hraje v japonské první basketbalové lize. Domácí arénou týmu je Kariya City Gymnasium.

Název týmu „Seahorses“ pochází z delfínů, kteří žijí v zálivu Mikawa. Maskotem týmu je „Mikachan“, delfín v basketbalovém dresu.

Mikawa Seahorses vyhráli japonskou první basketbalovou ligu v roce 2013. Tým také vyhrál v letech 2013 a 2016 Emperor's Cup.
