Players Championship 2019

The 2019 Players Championship (officially the 2019 Coral Players Championship) was a professional snooker tournament that took place from 4–10 March 2019 in Preston, Lancashire, England. It was the sixteenth ranking event of the 2018/2019 season and a part of the newly created Coral Cup.

Ronnie O'Sullivan successfully defended his 2018 title by defeating Neil Robertson 10–4 in the final. This was O'Sullivan's 35th ranking title, one away from Stephen Hendry's record of 36 ranking titles. O'Sullivan made 3 centuries during the final, including one in the final match-winning frame; this was his 1,000th century break in competitive play, becoming the first player ever to reach that mark.

Světová snookerová federace (WPBSA) a Matchroom Sport spojily své síly, aby vytvořily Players Championship 2019. Ten se uskuteční od 11. do 17. března 2019 v Southportu Theatre & Convention Centre. Tento turnaj bude mít celkový prize pool ve výši 125 000 £ a vítěz obdrží 50 000 £. 16 nejlepších hráčů na žebříčku sezone 2018/19 bude soutěžit v turnaji hraném na vyřazovací formát.

Formát:

1. kolo: Nejlepších 8 hráčů na žebříčku má nasazení a jde přímo do 2. kola.
2. kolo: Nasazení hráči hrají proti 8 vítězům z 1. kola.
Čtvrtfinále: 8 vítězů z 2. kola hraje o postup do semifinále.
Semifinále: 4 vítězové čtvrtfinále hrají o postup do finále.
Finále: Vítězové semifinále soupeří o vítězství v Players Championship 2019.

Všechny zápasy budou nejlepší z 11 framů, kromě finále, které bude nejlepší z 19 framů.
